CIREBON –bank bjb continues to take proactive steps in implementing the tasks mandated by the government to assist the process of accelerating National Economic Recovery (PEN). One of the steps is carried out by channeling financing to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Located at Nusantara Fishery Port (PPN) Kejawan, Pegambiran Village, Lemahwudul District, Cirebon City on Monday (10/8/2020), bank bjb hands over the financing of People's Business Credit (KUR) to the fisheries sector worth Rp.70 million to fishermen on the coast of Cirebon.
The handover was attended and witnessed by Commercial Manager of bank bjb Cirebon Branch Office Andri Risnandar, Central Manager of bank bjb MSME Region III Cirebon Foura Devinti Trisnasih, Sub Branch Manager of bank bjb Sub Branch Office (KCP) Perumnas Syarifudin, Deputy Mayor of Cirebon Eti Herawati, and a number of Commission IV DPR RI members.
Head of Corporate Secretary Division bank bjb Widi Hartoto said this financing was part of a strategy to stimulate public’s economy to accelerate the economic recovery from COVID-19 impact. The fisherman who are the main fish suppliers of Indonesian people are also affected by the economic slowdown due to pandemic.
"The fisherman have an important role as the backbone of Indonesian consumption economy. They are one of the heroes, who take part in maintaining the nation's sovereignty and food security. Through this financing, bank bjb wants to show its alignments and efforts to contribute in supporting the community business foundation that have been worked for the sake of advancing prosperity," said Widi.
It is expected that this financing distribution from bank bjb will have a positive impact, especially to strengthen the foundation of capital as one of the necessities in expanding business scale. It is also expected that there will be a strengthening of positive synergy between fishermen, fishing boat entrepreneurs and fish traders in order to facilitate their respective business steps.
